Jonni Qwest, a New York activist detained by ICE at Delaney Hall over Memorial Day weekend, says agents held him for four and a half hours — never processed him, never took his fingerprints, never gave him paperwork. Then, around midnight, they told him to get up, drove him and two other detainees around for 20 minutes, and dropped them in a dark alley under a billboard with their belongings. He says it wasn’t random. No paperwork means no paper trail. Releasing detainees blocks away in the middle of the night, covered in pepper spray, phone presumed dead — that’s not procedure. That’s a cover-up.
