New York Dems crack down on Meta for profiting off scam advertisers


New York lawmakers are pushing legislation that would make social media platforms liable for fraudulent ads on their sites. Sen. Andrew Gounardes (D-Brooklyn) is cosponsoring a new bill, the Fraudulent Social Media Advertising Prevention Act, pointing to the billions Meta makes off scam advertisements while everyday New Yorkers lose money to online fraud.
