A pregnant woman was forced to give birth in a Brooklyn courtroom with her hands cuffed behind her back. In response, the Senate passed the Anti-Shackling Bill put forth by Sen. Julia Salazar, which would prohibit the practice of restraining pregnant and postpartum women who are in the custody of law enforcement.
